Nipa Hut
The national house of the Philippines is the Nipa hut (Bahay Kubo in the native language). The Nipa Hut is considered as one of the Philippines' most cozy and pleasurable places to relax. The construction consists of bamboo tied together. Nipa Huts are great as shelter for average wind and rain, but the downside of their bamboo construction is, that they are easily damaged in larger storms. Fortunately they are inexpensive and easy to replace. It is widely used in the Phillippine resorts and has an airy surroundings. One reason why most foreigners prefer nipa huts on the seasides rather than choosing concrete structures is because they are comfortable and more relaxing in the inside. Resort owners choose nipa huts as their rooms because they aren't expensive and easy and thrifty to maintain.Photo's of Nipa HutsIf you would like to share your photo's of the philippines, request for a flickr-account by clicking on the logo and join the philippine-isles.com group.
